USGIF Announces Keynotes for the GEOINT 2018 Symposium

Global geospatial intelligence event to feature speeches and presentations, training, and myriad educational opportunities

Herndon, Virginia (April 3, 2018)—The GEOINT 2018 Symposium is less than a month away from returning to the Tampa Convention Center April 22-25. The theme of this year’s USGIF Symposium is “Driving Data to Decisions and Action.”

In addition to these keynote speakers the GEOINT 2018 general session will include panel discussions on “Analytics Driving Action” and the “Future of Commercial Remote Sensing.” These two panels feature USGIF Board Member Jeff Tarr, Maxar CTO Dr. Walter Scott, World View CEO Jane Poynter, Planet Co-founder and Chief Strategy Officer Robbie Schingler, Northrop Grumman Director of Strategic Analysis Dr. Erin Simpson, Tableau Software Research Scientist Dr. Sarah Battersby, SafeGraph CEO Auren Hoffman, and Senzing CEO, Founder, and Chief Scientist Jeff Jonas.

In addition, USGIF will host GEOINT Foreword, the pre-symposium science and technology-focused day, April 22. GEOINT Foreword includes poster sessions, presentations on GEOINT in decision-making, human performance, disaster planning, and medical services, and a keynote address by Dawn Meyerriecks, Deputy Director of the CIA’s Directorate of Science and Technology. GEOINT Foreword requires separate registration to attend.

The GEOINT Symposium is hosted annually by USGIF and offers the defense, intelligence, and homeland security communities and other federal and civil GEOINT users and producers the opportunity to learn from senior leaders through an exciting agenda of keynote speeches, panel discussions, and breakout tracks. GEOINT 2018 will feature an extensive exhibit hall with more than 245 organizations showcasing new technologies, solutions, and services. Exhibitor and sponsorship opportunities are still available.

There are 58 hours of dedicated professional development, training, and education sessions also available in short courses on big data, AI, deep learning, crisis mapping, LiDAR, synthetic aperture radar, and more.

GEOINT 2018 also features rich networking events, a government stage pavilion, a K-12 student program, and much more.
