ClioSoft Closes Profitable 2018 With Record New Customer Accounts

designHUB, the IP reuse ecosystem, continues to gain traction with customer adoption, along with the SOS7 design management platform

FREMONT, Calif. — (BUSINESS WIRE) — March 5, 2019 — ClioSoft®, Inc., a leader in system-on-chip (SoC) design data and intellectual property (IP) management solutions for the semiconductor design industry, today announced that the company has achieved a 15% increase in year-over-year bookings for the 2018 financial year, while maintaining profitability for the nineteenth consecutive year. New bookings in 2018 came in the form of increased demand for designHUB®, the next-generation IP reuse ecosystem that enables enterprises to leverage their internal and external IPs more efficiently to build their SoCs faster. The increase in bookings also came from the sales of ClioSoft’s flagship SOS7® design-management platform to new and existing customers. ClioSoft continued its steady growth as the market leader in SoC design and IP management software with 54 new customer accounts in 2018.

“There is not just one reuse solution that fits all companies,” said Srinath Anantharaman, founder and CEO of ClioSoft. “Every company has unique requirements, and each company looks for enterprise-class solutions that are configurable for their needs, easy to use, have a low maintenance overhead, a rich set of features, can scale to meet their future needs and be easily adopted within the company. The designHUB ecosystem addresses these needs and continues to be positively received by design team’s year after year.”

“The SOS7 design management platform,” continued Anantharaman, “follows the same philosophy of customizability and can be easily adapted to meet the specific requirements of design teams. Unlike the competitive tools, which are built on other software configuration software, SOS7 has its own engine optimized for hardware design teams, which enables us to easily develop new features requested by customers. The SOS7 platform continues to step up the game by improving performance, security and network disk space optimization.”

The designHUB platform increased traction in 2018 for IP reuse among semiconductor companies. The platform enables designers to leverage internally developed IPs by empowering designers to search and compare IPs easily across multiple sites, track their usage in IP sub-systems or SoCs, review open issues for an IP or browse through the IP knowledgebase before selecting the most suitable IP. designHUB bridges the gap between IP developers and users by providing users with an ability to gain insight into the experiences of other users or ask any questions to the IP developer. With most enterprises using one or more data management platforms to manage their design data, designHUB works seamlessly with all commonly used data management systems such as SOS7, Perforce, Git and Subversion.

The SOS7 platform continued to fortify its position as the market leader in SoC Design Management by displacing the competition at a number of accounts and gaining entry into a number of new accounts. ClioSoft continues to work with a number of EDA vendors and PLM providers to integrate SOS7 with their solutions. A recent integration with the Tanner IC Design flow from Mentor, a Siemen’s Business, has proven a non-intrusive flow for both local and remote design teams to effectively collaborate on their IPs/SoCs.

The adoption of the designHUB ecosystem and the SOS7 platform continues ClioSoft’s mission and company vision of delivering a best-in-class SoC and IP management solutions to customers for design reuse at an enterprise level which overall enables the delivery of on-time SoCs. The SOS7 platform continues to remain the only design management platform for all types of designs with integration to tools from all major electronic design automation (EDA) tool providers.
