ProTek Devices' Newest TVS Arrays Guards Against Electrical Transients in Smartphones

The New Family of TVS Arrays Consist of Four New Devices, Also Provide Circuit Protection in Other Handheld Wireless Systems, USB and Ethernet Interfaces

TEMPE, Ariz., March 30, 2020 — (PRNewswire) —

TEMPE, Ariz., March 30, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- ProTek Devices has introduced a series of ultra-low capacitance TVS arrays for circuit protection in smartphones, other handheld wireless systems, USB interfaces and Ethernet 10/100/1000 Base T applications. The new series of TVS arrays consists of four new devices.

The GBLCxxHP/CHP series comprises of two devices, the GBLC03HP and GBLC03CHP, with a rated stand-off voltages of 3.3, and the GBLC05HP and GBLC05CHP with a rated stand-off voltages of 5.0 They are available in both unidirectional and bidirectional configurations and are rated at 750 Watts for an 8/20 microsecond waveshape. The series offers ultra-low capacitance of 3pF (typical) and the also provides low leakage current of less than 0.5 microampere.

This GBLCxxHP/CHP series is compatible with IEC standards 61000-4-2 (ESD): air in the range of 15kV, contact in the range of 8kV and exceeds level 4: handles 20kV contact and 25kV air discharge, and with 61000-4-4 (EFT): 40A - 5/50ns; and with 61000-4-5 (surge). In addition, it is compatible with ISO 10605 (ESD): 330pF/2k ohm, in the range of 20kV contact. They can be used as replacements for MLV (0805) devices. They protect one power or I/O port and have an ESD protection greater than 25kV. The maximum peak current holds at 35A at 8/20 microseconds. The devices also offer a low clamping voltage and are RoHS and REACH compliant.

Mechanical, Packaging and Availability Information
ProTek Devices' GBLCxxHP/CHP series of transient voltage suppressors are provided in a molded JEDEC SOD-323 package with an approximate weight of just five milligrams. They deliver lead-free pure-tin plating (annealed) and a solder reflow temperature (pure-tin - Sn, 100) of 260-270 degrees Celsius. Operating and storage temperatures are -55 to 150 degrees Celsius. And, their flammability rating is UL 94V-0.

The TVS arrays are provided on 8mm tape and reel, per EIA Standard 481, in quantities starting at 3,000 units. Pricing information and purchasing details can be obtained by contacting any authorized worldwide distributor, representative, or directly with ProTek Devices. These sales sources are available throughout North America, Europe, Asia, South America, and more. Full contact information for all regions can be found at the company website.
