Collaboratively developed using Sindoh’s 3D printer with RIZE’s RIZIUM™ composites, RIZE 2XC helps drive safe, sustainable, affordable 3D printing to create an adaptive workplace
CONCORD, Mass. — (BUSINESS WIRE) — June 25, 2020 — RIZE, Inc., a next-generation additive manufacturing company dedicated to bringing industrial 3D printing to all users, announced the RIZE 2XC, a professional desktop composite 3D printer that represents the first deliverable of the RIZIUM Alliance™, a collaboration between key industry partners and RIZE to drive greater safety and sustainability in 3D printing.
A first of its kind 3D printer in the sub-$5K category, RIZE 2XC uses a dual-extrusion system 3D printer unit from Sindoh Co., Ltd. (029530.KS), a multi-function printer and 3D printer manufacturer based in South Korea, which has been redesigned to run RIZE’s RIZIUM™ innovative portfolio of engineering-grade materials that are zero emissions, recyclable, moisture-resistant and require minimal post-processing.
RIZE 2XC is the first deliverable of the RIZIUM Alliance, where a leading 3D printing hardware partner - Sindoh - applies RIZE’s materials innovation to their platforms, enabling customers in a wider variety of sectors to choose safety and sustainability at any price-point. RIZIUM materials are uniquely engineered for safety and user health by avoiding the airborne release of chemicals common in other filament based 3D printers.
The RIZE 2XC provides an affordable way to create strong, durable and fully functional components, safely and sustainably, with an exceptional time to part. Each of two independent extruders are specifically designed for hardened materials and composite filaments. One extruder runs RIZE’s award-winning portfolio of RIZIUM composites and polymers, which are moisture- and chemically resistant, and easily sanitized with soap and water. The other extruder runs RIZIUM Support, a breakthrough in support removal material technology specifically designed by RIZE for filament based extrusion systems, which ensures effortless post processing without requiring additional efforts or chemicals.
The RIZE 2XC expands RIZE’s current portfolio of printers, which includes the RIZE ONE monochrome multi-material desktop 3D printer, and the XRIZE full-color, multi-material desktop 3D printer. RIZE One is the world’s first and only UL 2904 GREENGUARD certified 3D printer for safety and low emissions.
As post-pandemic business demands greater supply chain flexibility, the RIZE 2XC enables organizations to optimize safety and productivity. Users can locate RIZE 2XC printers adaptively at home, in offices or anywhere – without concern for the release of airborne volatile organic compounds (VOCs) that are common in other 3D printing materials and proven to be harmful. Users can work with exceptional efficiency and safety, building new adaptive workflows with processes that keep teams safe and avoid the transmission of germs.
Engineered from home offices entirely during the COVID-19 pandemic when most office locations were closed worldwide, RIZE 2XC is a testimony to the safety principles embodied in RIZE’s solutions – principles that are especially relevant today as organizations reinvent workflows for a return to office locations, or potential return back home.
“Sindoh’s cooperative R&D effort with RIZE showed us that we chose the right partner indeed – a partner as committed to innovation in materials and technologies as we are,” said BB Lee, CEO, 3D Printing Division at Sindoh Co., Ltd. “We’re delighted to expand our reach into more segments of the market through the cooperative solutions we are creating with RIZE.”
“The newer, higher performance, safe materials from next-gen FFF players such as RIZE are helping to drive a transformation in the 3D printing sector that are particularly relevant now as the world emerges from a pandemic,” said Tim Greene, research director, 3D printing, at IDC. “The durability and safety advantage that’s possible from next-generation 3D printing systems merits the attention of any engineering or design team that wants to give their users the best, and safest, tools.”
“The RIZE 2XC is especially well suited for a variety of Industrial and Academic applications. Given the high demand for having 3D Composite Parts, we are able to, almost immediately, sign up a customer for the RIZE 2XC to use in their innovative plastic molding applications, such as robotic grippers,” said Ricco Busk, Director at CADSYS, a RIZE Partner. “Combining RIZE’s material advantage in the high quality, easy-to-use 2XC 3D platform opens doors to new markets for 3D printing that need precision parts made safely and sustainably.”
“The industry is overdue for collaborating to put team safety and health as a top priority as business enters a new normal,” said Andy Kalambi, CEO of RIZE. “The RIZE 2XC brings safe, sustainable 3D printing to the compact sub-$5K category for the first time, and can help more organizations gain an important competitive edge. It is also a demonstration of our openness to work with other industry players to deliver on the promise of health and safety of 3D printing users.”
The RIZE 2XC has an introductory price of $3,995 in the US market and €3,995 in Europe, and is available on June 30, 2020 from RIZE’s network of channel partners. For more information visit www.rize3d.com.
About RIZE
RIZE Inc. is a Boston, USA-based next-generation additive manufacturing company focused on helping customers drive sustainable and inclusive innovation. Prestigious organizations such as NASA, PSMI, Wichita State University, US Army and Festo have chosen RIZE solutions for supporting their additive manufacturing needs.
RIZE’s 3D Printing technology leverages two platforms – Augmented Polymer Deposition platform (APD) and the RIZIUM Material Platform. APD is the next generation of FFF (Fused Filament Fabrication) technology combining filament based extrusion with functional ink-based material jetting to address three industry challenges – safety, ease of use and security of intellectual property. The RIZIUM Material Platform consists of RIZIUM engineered polymers and RIZIUM functional inks.
Based on Augmented Polymer Deposition, RIZE’s first product, RIZE™ ONE, released in 2017, has become the first 3D printer in the industry to be awarded the prestigious UL GREENGUARD 2904 certification for safety and low emissions. RIZE’s second product, XRIZE, commenced general availability in Q4 2019 and has become the first mainstream industrial full color and composite 3D Printer.
The RIZIUM Material portfolio includes RIZIUM One, the world’s first and only 3D printing material to be certified for both USP Class VI (biocompatibility) and UL 2904 GREENGUARD (low emissions); RIZIUM Carbon, the world’s first zero VOC carbon composite material; RIZIUM ST, for color parts; RIZIUM CMYK Inks, for full color applications; RIZIUM Release Ink; and the newly introduced RIZIUM Release engineering polymer.
RIZE has won numerous awards and accolades, including being named as an one of the IDC Innovators in Plastic-Based 3D Printing, and a Frost & Sullivan Technology Innovation Award for Best Practices for Zero-Emissions Polymer Additive Manufacturing. For more information please visit www.rize3d.com.
