M2I Corporation Selects Avalanche Technology's Persistent-SRAM for Industrial Automation Human Machine Interface Products

M2I Has Launched New HMI Products with Avalanche's Persistent-SRAM

FREMONT, Calif., Nov. 1, 2020 — (PRNewswire) —

FREMONT, Calif., Nov. 1, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Avalanche Technology, the leader in next generation MRAM technology, announced today that it is providing Persistent SRAM (P-SRAM) products for industrial touch screen applications developed by M2I corporation. M2I has designed in Avalanche's 4Mbit High Performance Serial P-SRAM device into its popular TOP Human Machine Interface products used in industrial automation systems.

M2I chose Avalanche's highly reliable P-SRAM for its industrial HMI products due to its ease of use, instant write capability, practically unlimited endurance and data retention in harsh environmental conditions and an upgrade path for future product enhancement. HMI products require an external non-volatile expansion RAM memory to store pre-rendered graphics, messages, and to log data related to alarms and internal registers. Data and message logging require the RAM to have high endurance to survive many repeated read-write operations. This RAM also needs to be capable of fast and reliable writes in order to protect data in the event of unexpected power loss.

"Avalanche's family of P-SRAM non-volatile memories is the best solution today with the performance and reliability needed for our TOPR series of HMI products", said In-Sik Kim, General Manager – Research & Development of M2I Corporation. M2I designs and manufactures HMI systems for various industrial segments such as Logistics, Semiconductor Manufacturing, Chemical, Energy, Textile and Food production. It's touch panel and PC-based HMI systems allow integration of automation tasks into a single comprehensive and compact system.

"Avalanche high-reliability P-SRAM provides a number of benefits, including non-volatility with instant write capability, to designers of Industry 4.0 systems," said Danny Sabour, Vice President of Marketing and Business Development at Avalanche Technology. "Industry 4.0 devices require reliable local memory to minimize data transfer to the cloud."

Avalanche P-SRAM

Avalanche's high-performance Serial P-SRAM is based on STT-MRAM (Spin Transfer Torque MRAM) and is offered in 1Mb to 16Mb densities, and is a true non-volatile random-access memory, ideal for applications that must store and retrieve data without incurring large latency penalties. These devices offer low power, and virtually infinite endurance and retention. They are available in standard small-footprint packages that are ideal for form-factor-constrained IoT applications as well as Industry 4.0 applications for non-volatile memories.

The Avalanche Parallel P-SRAM is also based on the same highly reliable, non-volatile STT-MRAM technology and is available in 1Mb-32Mb density options. These devices come with a standard 35-nanosecond asynchronous SRAM interface and offer low power, and virtually infinite endurance and retention. These devices are ideal for non-volatile memory applications such as program storage and data logging in Factory Automation, Motor Control, Human Machine Interfaces, Smart Meters, and Multifunction Printers.
