Spin Memory Joins Semiconductor Industry Association as First MRAM-focused Member

Spin Memory Exemplifies the Innovation and Development of New Technologies that the Semiconductor Industry Association Aims to Promote Globally

FREMONT, Calif. — (BUSINESS WIRE) — December 10, 2020 — Spin Memory, Inc. (Spin Memory), the leading developer of MRAM technologies, today announced that it is joining the Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA). Spin Memory will be a unique member of SIA as the first major MRAM company to have a role in the organization. Spin Memory is joining other notable and major semiconductor companies as part of SIA, including NVIDIA, Xilinx, Arm, SK Hynix and others.

As an industry association, SIA is the voice of the semiconductor industry, and its membership represents 98% of the U.S. semiconductor industry’s revenue. SIA’s core mission is to advance semiconductor manufacturing, design and research in the U.S. by working with Congress, the Administration, and key industry stakeholders to encourage policies and regulations that fuel innovation, propel business and drive international competition. Spin Memory’s goal of solving memory challenges vital for AI, ADAS, 5G, edge and aerospace applications with advancing emerging memories aligns with SIA’s objectives of promoting technology innovation and local manufacturing for semiconductors in the U.S.

“Spin Memory is a leading innovator in our industry and an important champion for semiconductor priorities,” said John Neuffer, SIA president and CEO. “We’re thrilled to welcome Spin Memory to SIA and look forward to working with Spin’s team to advance our domestic and global policy initiatives and promote growth and innovation in our industry.”

Semiconductor memory is becoming the bottleneck for many cutting-edge technologies due to limits in the power efficiency, density scaling and performance of legacy options. Spin Memory’s many IPs and innovations, including the PSC, are overcoming many of the previous limitations of MRAM and bringing the promise and potential of this memory technology to reality. Spin Memory is transforming the industry with a high-performance, embedded, non-volatile memory, providing a new mainstream memory option to replace legacy technologies.

“SIA is a leading organization for the semiconductor industry and a global leader in directing industry priorities and meaningful policy change,” said Tom Sparkman, CEO at Spin Memory. “As an industry innovator, we are excited to join the association as we work to promote the development and adoption of new semiconductor technologies and memory solutions.”
