Nexa3D to Launch XiP Desktop 3D Printer, Expanded Ultrafast Portfolio at RAPID + TCT

VENTURA, Calif. — (BUSINESS WIRE) — May 11, 2022 — Nexa3D, maker of ultrafast industrial resin 3D printers, will be exhibiting at this year’s RAPID + TCT conference, taking place May 17-19 in Detroit, Michigan. This event marks the formal US launch of the XiP, Nexa3D’s first desktop 3D printer.

Industrial Strength. Desktop Size.

The XiP combines the ultrafast speed of Nexa3D’s Lubricant Sublayer Photo-curing (LSPc) technology with industrial-grade capabilities in a smaller, more accessible package. The desktop resin 3D printer was originally announced at Formnext in Germany in 2021, and RAPID + TCT will be its formal US tradeshow launch.

Like the rest of Nexa3D’s 3D printer portfolio, the XiP uses the self-lubricated, resilient Everlast-2 Membrane to minimize separation forces and ultimately enable ultrafast print speeds. Also setting the XiP apart are its Smart Resin Cartridge and Toolless Vat System, simplifying resin loading and unloading, as well as its large 4.8 liter build volume. The XiP was designed with an open material platform, allowing it to print with not only Nexa3D’s selection of resins but third-party and even user-created materials.

The XiP is now available for order.

“The Nexa3D team is excited to introduce the XiP in person to a US audience,” said Michael Currie, VP, General Manager of Desktop Business at Nexa3D. “Having the ability to design, print, and test a part all within the same day is a superpower for an engineer. The XiP gives you that. It’s fast, accurate, reliable, and easy to use. We are thrilled to deliver a blazing fast desktop 3D printer to the masses.”

Addifab Freeform Injection Molding (FIM) powered by Nexa3D, a partnership announced in March, is also expanding to the desktop. With the NXE 400, Addifab has added the capacity to scale its Freeform Injection Molding platform, which involves the 3D printing of injection molding tooling, drastically reducing time and cost. Now for the first time, this process can also be a desktop-friendly setup. 3D printing a mold on the XiP, post-processing it on the Wash+Cure, injecting it with material, and demolding it in a new desktop unit makes the FIM process more accessible than ever before.

The Expanding Nexa3D Portfolio

Nexa3D will also be showcasing the rest of its portfolio, which includes the recently renamed QLS 820, the company’s first selective laser sintering 3D printer. The QLS 820, which will also begin shipping this year, continues Nexa3D’s reputation for speed and productivity, offering up to 4x the throughput of other polymer powder bed technologies.

The NXE 400 and recently introduced NXE 200 industrial 3D printers will also be on exhibit. These LSPc-powered industrial systems are the flagship 20x productivity systems for which Nexa3D has become a known and trusted provider. Customers like PepsiCo have found new levels of productivity with these systems, and such stories will feature both at the Nexa3D booth and on the Tech Hub stage.

Visitors to Nexa3D’s booth can also see the NXD 200 dental 3D printer; xWash, xCLEAN, and xCure post-processing technology; and the XiP-specific XiP Wash+Cure and XiP AiR air purifier. Demonstrations of NexaX 2.0 software will be available as well.

Innovation in Applications, Sustainability, Diversity

Nexa3D team members will be presenting on a variety of topics during the RAPID + TCT event. CEO, Chairman, and Co-Founder Avi Reichental will present “It’s Time to Get Serious About Digitizing Supply Chain Sustainably” on Wednesday, May 18 at 10:00 AM.

“Additive manufacturing has the potential to be a leading force for sustainability in manufacturing,” said Reichental. “Industry leaders, however, must take real, concrete action to make it a truly green technology. We at Nexa3D have dedicated ourselves to defining and taking the steps needed to make additive manufacturing the sustainable solution to today’s supply chain challenges.”

Nexa3D CTO Izhar Medalsy, along with PepsiCo Senior Manager, Global Packaging Max Rodriguez and Global Packaging Engineer Thangthip Tekanil, will present “Accelerating Packaging Innovation with 3D Printed Mold Inserts” at the RAPID + TCT Tech Hub on Wednesday, May 18 at 1:30 PM.

Sarah Goehrke, Senior Director, Strategic Communications and Ecosystems, and Kristin Mulherin, General Manager, Powder Bed Solution – both also leaders in industry nonprofit Women in 3D Printing – will be presenting “Why a 3D Printing Manufacturer Should Invest in DEI Today” on Thursday, May 19 at 10:00 AM followed by the panel “Creating a DE&I Framework in the Additive Manufacturing Industry” at 11:30.

Nexa3D will be at Booth 1501. To book a meeting with a member of the Nexa3D team at RAPID + TCT, contact clare.scott@nexa3D.com.
