MSC.Software Announces Integrated Enterprise Simulation for PTC Product Development Solutions

Enables Businesses to Achieve Greater ROI and Innovation through Enterprise Engineering Simulation Efficiency and Productivity

SANTA ANA, Calif., June 2, 2008 – MSC.Software (NASDAQ: MSCS), the leading global provider of enterprise simulation solutions, today announced an integrated simulation solution for the PTC Product Development Solutions within its release of SimEnterprise R3. MSC.Software’s  Advanced Enterprise Simulation Technology can now provide PTC users the ability to enhance the efficiency of product development resources, automate best practices for CAE as well as share and reuse information analysis vastly improving virtual product development efficiency.

MSC.Software’s SimEnterprise solutions allow users of PTC’s CAD and PDM applications to enhance their design environment efficiency through virtual test and validation while increasing the level of analysis through SimEnterprise. SimEnterprise solutions provide several distinct layers of simulation functionality that are fully integrated with PTC applications. The SimEnterprise solutions begin with the industry leading capabilities of MD Nastran for linear, non-linear and thermal analysis along with MD Adams for motion coupled with other integrated analysis capabilities for noise, vibration, and explicit analyses like drop test. PTC users can also select a next generation integrated pre and post processing environment exposing all disciplines in a multi-workspace environment with unique facilities for best practice capture of simulation methods.  Captured best practice CAE methods can be directly distributed to ProE CAD users using MSC.Software’s SimDesigner Enterprise template capability. SimManager can be combined for a complete, end-to-end enterprise simulation environment that enables integration with Windchill, adding complementary capabilities to manage simulation related content and automate processes for added productivity. SimEnterprise’s flexible Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) allows PTC users to start anywhere, tailoring the next generation enterprise simulation solution to maximize their efficiencies, accelerate time to market, and add time to increase innovation into their products.

“Organizations need best-in-class simulation technology along with enterprise capable solutions for both design and simulation that work seamlessly together and allow users to optimize form, fit, and function concurrently,” said Bill Weyand, chief executive officer, MSC.Software. “MSC.Software is committed to providing best-in-class integrated enterprise simulations solutions that extend business value complementing PTC PLM solutions capabilities.”
