HP Named Overall Best Brand of Desktop Computing for Quality and Reliability

-Leading Choice Among European CXOs-

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., Sept. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Frost & Sullivan, the Growth Partnership Company, is pleased to present HP with the 2008 Europe CXOs' Choice Award for Overall Best Brand of Desktop Computing for Quality and Reliability.

According to the independent, non-sponsored survey, conducted by Frost & Sullivan's Competitive Benchmarking Services group, 96 percent of HP customers report overall satisfaction with HP desktop computers. Supporting these overall levels of satisfaction, HP customers also report high levels of satisfaction with HP's customer service and value (both 77 percent very/somewhat satisfied) -- an outstanding testament to the HP brand.

"The level of satisfaction is overwhelming," explains Tonya Fowler, Director of Competitive Benchmarking Services at Frost & Sullivan. "The results of the survey speak for themselves, and the winner is clear -- HP."

Additionally, HP leads in the desktop computing feature that is rated "most important" among all desktop computer features tested: quality and reliability. Specifically, 89 percent of Europe CXOs rate quality and reliability as "very important" and another 10 percent rate this feature as "somewhat important."

"HP has always prided itself on the reliability of its products," said Charl Snyman, vice president and general manager, Commercial Products, Personal Systems Group - EMEA, HP. "This award from Frost & Sullivan is a reflection of our commitment to providing our customers with a choice of smart and reliable technology that best meets their needs."

The objective of this EU CXOs' Choice survey was to measure preferences of desktop computing manufacturers/brands among EU CXOs. The survey was completed in March/April 2008 using a web-based survey methodology. To assess the competitive landscape of the desktop computing market, Frost & Sullivan surveyed CEOs, CIOs, presidents, and other C-level executives of companies across various industry verticals based primarily throughout Europe.

Survey respondents were requested to select the desktop computing products or brands they considered to be the best in each evaluative category from a list of market competitors. Such categories include quality and reliability, innovation, and ease-of-use, among others.

The Frost & Sullivan Europe CXOs' Choice Award is bestowed upon the company that receives the highest proportion of respondent selections -- a sign of perceived excellence in its industry. The award recipient has distinguished itself through its proactive strategies that position it to emerge as an industry leader.

The survey was conducted by Frost & Sullivan's Competitive Benchmarking Services group, a division of the customer research team that conducts independent, non-sponsored research among end-users to evaluate and measure companies that are top performers for their products, processes, and services. Specifically, Competitive Benchmarking Services surveys respondents that are deemed experts in the wide range of industries that Frost & Sullivan supports.
