Symbio Group Partners With Beijing Jiaotong University School of Software Engineering (BJTU) for Educational Collaboration and Innovative Software Lab

ROCKVILLE, Md. and BEIJING, Jan. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Symbio Group ( www.symbio-group.com) announced today that it has signed an agreement with the Beijing Jiaotong University School of Software Engineering (BJTU) for educational collaboration, including creating a "United Lab Program," designed to incubate software research and development by undergraduate and graduate students. Symbio is a global software and innovation outsourcer that leverages the resources of China.

In addition to the United Lab Program, Symbio and BJTU will develop a curriculum for both undergraduate and graduate school programs. Symbio will provide experienced professionals to teach courses at BJTU, while the BJTU faculty will participate in internships at Symbio to gain practical industry experience.

The United Lab Program provides BJTU students the opportunity to develop their project development experience, prior to working in industry. In addition, the lab enables students to engage in advanced Research & Development (R&D) projects and activities. As part of the program, the curriculum will provide students with hands-on experience, and it will help students advance their skills in leadership, relationship management and technology.

"We are taking a leadership role in tapping into and developing the tremendous software engineering talent in China, which has more than 400,000 science/engineering graduates," said Dr. I-Hung Li, Symbio's Chief Knowledge Officer (CKO) and director of the program.

The BJTU program is part of a series of agreements Symbio has with leading Chinese universities that add specialized technical skill development to the syllabi. In addition to BJTU, Symbio has partnerships with Zhejiang University at Hangzhou, Sichuan University at Chengdu and the Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) at Weihai to establish university-level software engineering institutes.

"Symbio is dedicated to advancing software engineering education and innovation in China," said Dr. I-Hung Li. "Not only are we teaching at these schools and co-developing the curricula, but we are also focusing on the exchange of faculty and collaborating with them to build 21st century labs."

According to Symbio's CEO, Jacob Hsu. "Our vision is to build an innovation ecosystem at Symbio that will enable our clients to leverage an elite and scalable group of technologists specifically trained to think and solve problems, working in our state-of-the-art technology centers in China to develop tomorrow's technologies."
