Celebrates Best in Recent Stereoscopic 3D Achievements
LOS ANGELES — (BUSINESS WIRE) — September 8, 2010 — The International 3D Society, established to advance the art and technologies of stereoscopic 3D content and its innovators, today announced the 2010 recipients of its prestigious Lumiere™ Award. Recognizing the most important recent accomplishments within the stereoscopic 3D medium, the Lumiere™ Award will be formally presented during the 3D Technology Awards on Oct. 19 at Mann’s Chinese Theatre in Hollywood.
The Lumiere™ Award is the highest honor of its kind, with winners being selected by the membership of the International 3D Society and a blue ribbon panel of stereoscopic 3D experts. The inaugural program will recognize individuals and organizations that had the most significant impact on the advancement of the medium from Jan. 1, 1980 through Dec. 31, 2009:

There are three technologies being honored for their contribution to recent advances in stereoscopic 3D technologies: Colernial Robert Bernier for his “Optics” technology; IMAX for its “Solido Dual Strip 3D Camera” technology; and IRIDAS for its “Dual Stream” technology.
