PLEASE NOTE: Due to ongoing blatant theft and reselling of my free content on the Second Life Marketplace, I have now removed all listings from my account here on ShareCG.
I have done this with much sadness, having enjoyed giving freely to the creative 3D community over the past seven-plus years. I have always been aware of the piracy issue that plagues us, due to the nature of 3D content needing to be copyable for end users. However, ever since Linden Lab (owners of the Second Life platform) enabled mesh uploading, the actual SELLING of stolen 3D content for real cash has made piracy an easy money making opportunity for lazy thieves.
I am sick and tired of seeing my content listed on the Marketplace there for sale, and having to constantly fight to have it removed. It's a slap in my face seeing my hard work being profiteered from by outright thieves - especially as I have NEVER made a single cent from selling 3D content that I have created myself (by my own personal choice, since making money from my creativity isn't high on my agenda).
My 3D offerings were made for the love and spirit of sharing things with those less fortunate than myself, and to help people enjoy creating 3D artwork on low budgets. Sadly, there are plenty of unscrupulous people out there who will sell their own grandmother for a quick dollar. Now that they can easily and blatantly sell stolen 3D content for real money, these thieves are taking anything and everything and putting it up for sale over on the Second Life Marketplace.
It is a disgraceful situation.
If you are a passionate 3D creator, I strongly urge you take a look over at the Second Life Marketplace. You will be disgusted and dismayed at the amount of stolen content being openly sold there (keep in mind that the Second Life currency CAN be cashed out into real US dollars - $1000 Linden Dollars equates roughly to US$4.40).
When you discover "merchants" whose store inventories often consist of hundreds of easily recognisable, stolen meshes taken from various sources, you begin to realise how much potential income is being raked in for almost no effort at all. Simply steal a mesh, upload it, take a snapshot of it and slap on a price.. and let the money flow in. Nobody cares, nobody asks questions. Utterly disgusting.
SO IF YOU VALUE YOUR HARD WORK -
KEEP A CLOSE EYE ON THE SECOND LIFE MARKETPLACE AND PROTECT YOUR CONTENT.

Just be careful with the "maturity settings". There is a LOT of material which many will find offensive if the full range of maturity settings is enabled.
My spirit of generosity has been burned out, permanently. I will no longer feed the thieves.
SPREAD THE WORD AMONG CREATORS HERE AND ELSEWHERE...
SECONDLIFE IS A PIRATE HAVEN FOR MONETISING STOLEN CONTENT....
QUITE POSSIBLY YOUR CONTENT
