This file contains a three layer animated planet model. The image maps are packed with the BLEND file and come from the NASA.gov site. It uses three spheres, one is low poly and I wrote a scatter script (included in the BLEND file) to distribute spotlights across the sphere. These spots, in halo mode produce the outer glow. The other two spheres are matched on ploy count and have images mapped to their surface. The cloud layer uses a material node to achieve the masking effect. There is also a node system for the land mass where you can fade from daytime and night time. « Less
