With Lightwave, open up the object properties panel of the ball and set the render geometry to ~12. you can also set the 'display subpatch level' to a high number to get a better visualization for whats about to come.
In the 'Deform' tab, click on the 'T' to add a Textured displacment, load the Baseball_Bump.j
