Apparently most of you aren't seeing the bigger picture. It's a skeleton Biped rig (yes, rig because it's short for "system". Max's Biped is a system of bones.) used for regular animation purposes, which can then be re-imported back into DAZ or Poser as animations.

Actually, for those of you much less experienced with animating Max or Daz/Poser, this is in fact VERY useful in that you're now able to animate in 3DS Max however you want, and then Export your animation back into Daz Studio or Poser! From there, you may create aniBlocks of these animations.

Think of it as "gaining" a tool, rather than a useless rig. You don't get a copy of more …

This biped representation of V4 can become very handy if u wish to transfer biped motion data to other applications such as MotionBuilder...tweak it...then re-export it in BVH format to drive the V4 animation in DAZ or Poser. U need to have the right joint rotational data and bone length for the BVH to work correctly on V4 and this is where Norse''s biped will fit in.

Perhaps I don't understand what you exactly mean by that, but this isn't a rig, rig is a complete setup which means skinning data too which can be saved too in many cased without the physical model.

I just took a quicklook of the file, but i can create automatic skeleton system as biped myself and scale and fit it into the mesh. Most of the annoying work in rigging is to adjust weights and env

This isn't a model, just the skeleton of V4. Import the mesh/model (V4 if you have purchased it from DAZ3D) and use the physique modifier to connect this skeleton to the mesh. The hierarchy of the original DAZ figure are dummy's, not the 3DS Max compatible skeleton. This is the 3DS Max skeleton for the V4 figure.

No offense, but this is useless. You can scale models and biped as you want, even with if it's skinned. This file would be more useful if you had it skinned to the skeleton using physique for example and saved the envelope data etc.
