BACKGROUND STORY:Suspect: Husband (Simon Ward) committed suicide in Fla. mansion, Orlando, USA. MIAMI — In the hours after Simon Ward died on the floor of his patio's mansion from a gunshot wound to the face, his wife was taken to the Orange County Sheriff’s office for questioning. After all, authorities said Diane Ward had told a 911 dispatcher that she had shot her husband. But documents released Tuesday show Ms Ward had her Blackberry with her in the interview room, and sent a chilling e-mail to several people, including a trustee involved in his bankruptcy case. “I hope you’re happy,” the e-mail read. “Simon killed himself this evening. Go to hell.” The 156 pages of investigative material released to the media add unusual details to the case. Ward, a 35-year-old prominent southeast developer of resort communities in five states, is charged with second-degree murder in the death of her 35-year-old husband.
