The 13 Days of Halloween:
“The Scariest Songs”
Hi Folks! Here is my suggestion for Number 6: What’s yours?
#6: Sympathy For the Devil
The Rolling Stones, 1968
Same Set Playlist:
The Devil Went Down to Georgia – Charlie Daniels Band
Running from the Devil – Ohio Players
Do You Wanna Get Funky With Me – Peter Brown
"So if you meet me have some courtesy
Have some sympathy, have some taste
Use all your well-earned politesse
Or I’ll lay your soul to waste"
Who needs a Devil with a Blue Dress when the real Master of Mischief is around? He always seems to be in the right place at the right time to take part in history’s worst episodes. And all he needs to open his playground is an idle mind. When Old Scratch isn’t enjoying human misery, he’s facilitating it by making deals that always contain poetically damnable consequences. Woo Woo!! The Stones no longer perform the song live because, as Mick Jagger once noted, “ . . . something very funny happens when we start that number.” But contrary to legend, they were not playing it when violence erupted at the Altamont concert.
Thanx to the artists at Renderosity.com, 3Dcommune, Daz 3D, Archive3D.net, and ShareCG, whose props were used in the composition of this image.
