This was a godsend! Thank you so much for writing this.
I was able to use this tutorial to rig a game-extracted model of Portal 2 Long Fall Boots to work with Genesis 8.
I learned a lot with your help!

That's great; I'll give it a go rather than wasting nice shoes
Can't wait for those shoes, textures are not a problem and it's easy to try out different shaders

@chimaera - yes you can use these same steps to convert v4 shoes to genesis. Just pose Genesis feet, zero and position, scale v4 shoes and export them as objects. Then follow the tutorial as if they were modeled shoes. Remember though, you cannot redistrubute them.

As to the boots in the tutorial, I wasn't going to sell them, but I was going to share them :) not done with textures yet though.

A couple of questions for those not skilled enough to make the shoes in the first place:
Would this work with .objs of purchased V4 shoes
Are you going to put those boots on sale, if so where and when? (and if not, what about giving them away?)

UPDATED...I Have uploaded a revised version of the tutorial to include a missing step.

Before saving your .dsf figure you need to MEMORIZE the figure rigging in the Joint Editor Tool Settings menu.

If you have already saved your figure, just reload and reset the bones positions and then MEMORIZE and re-save your .dsf figure.

Sorry for any inconvienence this may have caused.

Best Wishes to all

Jerry3D - I havn't had that happen before, but I will definitly take a look at it and see what may have gone wrong.
Has anyone else had this problem?
