What it is:

This is a sci-fi telepresence unit - kind of like a telephone.  Except your present.  Hence, telepresence.

And yes, I know, telepresence is usually used to mean something entirely different.  Hey, work with me, here, it's a freebie.

Important Note #1:  This prop uses material and render effects that ONLY work in Poser, they do NOT work in DAZ Studio.

Important Note #2:  This prop uses an effect in Poser that requires both Raytracing and "remove backfacing polys" be turned on in your render dialogue.  There must also be a physical object in the background behind the character for the effect to show, such as a building prop, a wall, etcetera.

What you can do with it:

1) You're free to use these files in any render, non-commericial or commercial.
2) You may not sell the files themselves, either individually or as part of a compilation.
3) If you re-post these files on your website or as part of a free compilation, the archive must include this readme file.

How to use it:
--------------
First, extract this archive to your Poser runtime directory.  The files will fall into the following directories:

The prop will fall under runtime:libraries:props:telepresence_unit

After you've installed the files, open Poser.  Load the prop, then position any character on top of it.  Use the morph dial to raise (or lower) the screen.  When the screen is up, select your character's "body" location, and switch off raytracing for the character.  Repeat for clothing and any props the character is carrying.  Then, make sure "remove backfacing polys" is switched on in your render settings, and make sure you have raytracing on with at least 1 bounce set.  Lastly, make sure there is something behind the character for the screen to render over, it won't work just rendering over the background.

All set?  Click render, wait, and viola!  Though you can also get this effect in postwork (and quite easily), the prop is still fun to use.

Note also that if you want the character to appear brighter (or, say, tinted in color), change the "ambient" settings on their material zones.
