What it is:

This is a mat pose and material setting for my 20-page book that turns it into a spellbook for an adventuring mage. And by that I mean that this isn't a pretty little book like you'd find in a neat, clean mage's tower or a library. This thing is beat up, scuffed, cut, torn, stained, smudged, faded, burned and bloodied. It got that way by being in the grubby paws of an adventuring mage. And by that, I mean someone slogging through caves and dungeons and swamps and monster-infested wilderness and other nasty places with a group of armor-plated knuckleheads, fighting off man-eating critters while struggling to stay alive and make a quick gold coin or two. You can remove the "damage" to the interior pages by un-plugging the material nodes that make it work - or, you can use them to design your own damage, and make even more pages look messed up.
As to which pages are damaged:
- Page 4 is missing a corner.
- Page 13 has been torn out completely.
- Page 15 has a hole burned through it.
- Page 17 has a blood stain.
Conceivably, you could also use it for an ancient and beat up forbidden tome sought after by some brave yet slightly insane investigator who is hoping to find some way to save the world from the ravages of the Old Ones. Or something - use your imagination. ;-)

IMPORTANT NOTE #2: This item has been tested to work in Poser 9 and Poser Pro 2012. I do not know if it works in DAZ Studio, I don't have Studio.

2) You may not sell the files themselves, either individually or as part of a compilation.
3) If you re-post this model on your website or as part of a free compilation, the archive must include this readme file.
How to use it:
--------------
First, extract this archive to your Poser runtime directory. The files will fall into the following directories:
The mat poses will appear under Runtime:Libraries:Poses:Jim's Book
The Material presets will appear under Runtime:Libraries:Materials:Jim's Book
After you've arranged the files where you want them, open Poser. Load the book, then select it. Load the material pose, and away you go.
