I found a nicer version of a Tagine than my crude creation released on 18 April 2013. The nicer version was created by LOTTE using Sketchup, and uploaded to 3DWarehouse. LOTTE has granted me permission to use and re-distribute it as part of my freebie set.
I have added some contents and gravy to this set ! Please enjoy using it. However, please do not claim this work as your own. Please do not re-distribute it. Please do not sell it. You may use this item in non-commercial renders only.
A Tagine is a hand-made clay cooking pot, which I learned about while visiting a clay workshop in Fes, Morocco in April 2013. You can see these cooking pots in many marketplaces around Morocco. Painted Tagines are decorative, but the pigments may be poisonous if they leach while food is being cooked, so always choose the type with a natural finish. In Fes, the local grey clay is double fired using olive kernels. The result is a very durable material.
The cover and base can be moved separately, but you must pose them in your scene yourself. I used one of the default material shaders provided with Poser Pro 2012, so if you have this software, you would be able to get the shaders in your render. If not, simply use a clay-like material setting. I have used very simple material settings for the food and gravy. Please feel free to apply your own shaders as you please.
Once again, I thank LOTTE for his/her kind permission for the use of the Tajine model.
