Hi Medhue,

I guess what I am saying is fully detailed (sections) for close ups, then a substitute model for further away shots based on the original model.

Having said that, I will push the level of detail to the limit, but that's just my (artistic) preference.

It leaves me wondering if a fully detailed model is really right for the scene. I'm not saying take out the detail. What I'm saying is to create the detail using bumps and normals maps. I think you are right about the lighting, and needing different lighting for each render. It's all about getting the best look for that shot, right. What do I know tho, I'm still a newb. lol
