Oh yes, absolutely it's fun...when I started 3D seven years ago, even then I had a ball learning how to make the characters move...to me it was almost like modeling clay, very artistic...and posing can naturally lead to animation, something else I enjoy...so yes, give it a try, you might find out how much fun it can be :D
