cool! I wish i could help you with the rope thing, but the only experience i have with that sort of thing is from maya, which has an Ncloth function you can use to easily create things like that. good news is, i hear blender is open source, meaning that if a similar function isn't in the main program, you might be able to find an addon that does it. I'm not sure if DAZ will support it more …
