My first Scene in Octane will solve some problems for those interested in making complex 3d animated night scenes. more at http://www.scififunk.com

I'm using DAZ 3D as the animator and scene provider. It has a plug in which interfaces with the Octane Renderer.

I will do a full tutorial later, but for now anyone new to Octane will probably struggle to produce a full colour night scene without the rendering taking hours per frame.

As an animator I have to have speed (at the cost of compromise), each frame here is taking 4 and a half minutes each on a single GTX 760 Graphics card.

I hope to double up with another of those cards soon, so the frames would take 2 mins 15 seconds each, comparable with biased renderers but with GI thrown in (and all it's fantastic light scattering).
