SG50 Merlion Cosplay Set
A commemorative dress-up set to mark the 50th Jubilee Year of Singapore
Created by Juniper Chew, 2015.
For use in Poser Pro 2014 or equivalent; may work with earlier versions but no guarantees.
This set was developed for the Smith Micro Koji G2 figure, but with some adjustments to XYZ rotations, translations and scaling, may fit other figures as well. It consists of a poseable tail CR2 (compressed), a parented tailfin PP2 (compressed) with a wave deformation, Left and Right Laserbeam PP2s (compressed), a Merlion Spit PP2 (compressed), and a Mane PP2 (compressed).
ADDENDUM:- I have included the default material shaders for the water spout and the tail and fin, plus a pose to get the tail and fin back into the default Singapore Merlion pose.
I modelled the poseable tail, tailfin, laser beams, and hair using Shade3D. I created the bones for the tail figure using Poser. I created a wave to deform the tail fin, using Poser. You will need to parent the laser beams to your figure's eyes after adjusting them to the correct position. I can't help with a pre-posed version of the laserbeams, sorry. I generated the skullcap of the hair prop using MakeHuman and Poser, and fitted it to KojiG2 using Poser. With adjustments to XYZ scaling, translations and rotations, it could probably fit other figures as well. The hair textures were generated using Natukin's Kami hair texture generator. I generated the Merlion fountain jet (Merlion Spit PP2) using Blender. I generated the tail texture using Pattern Artist iOS app by Kevin Brain, and devised a shader inside Poser. I created the procedural shader for the tailfin in Poser.
I provide the tail and tailfin in the default Singapore Merlion pose. Whichever figure you attach the tail to - PLEASE PARENT IT, NOT CONFORM ! And please MAKE THE LEGS OF THE FIGURE INVISIBLE, using the hierarchy window (click on the eye symbol of each part to switch it off).
The Mane is rather high polygon, and may slow down performance on some computers.
I guess that's a lot to say about the cosplay set, but now comes the important stuff. Please do not claim it as your own work. Please do not sell it. Please do not re-distribute it. Please do not use it to insult or defame anyone or anything. Please celebrate with Singaporeans in their 50th year as a sovereign state. Thank you.
