 Following a suggestion from Mark and encouragement from Ivy (thank you guys!) I have started on a series of the Major Arcana of the tarot deck.  Here’s Card 0, the Fool. 

 I have kept the elements of the traditional symbolism, but changed the way they’re used a little.  So we still have the dog (loyalty, companionship, the faithful guide); the knapsack (the basic needs in life, things we value as well as burdens); mountains (challenges and opportunities), the sun (illumination, hope, joy and growth) and the white rose (duality of life, innocence and faith).  The rose is traditionally shown held in the hand, but I have incorporated it into the lace collar and cuffs of the costume instead, along with a harlequin motif to remind us the fool is also the joker.

…As for the little blue frog, well that’s just my nod to the possibility of something utterly random coming along!
