This card features many symbols from earlier ones, so I have reflected this in using many of the same props.
The moon is a symbol of intuition and introspection. It represents illumination and clarification. It also indicates timing.
The dog and wolf are opposites. The dog is symbolic of loyalty, commitment and obedience while the wolf is the wild side. This duality is also reflected in the towers on either side of the path, which is the same mountain road symbolising enlightenment as in “Death” and “Temperance”.
Water is a symbol of reflection, emotion, and intuition as well as purification. The creature emerging from the pool (normally shown as a lobster, here a crab as I couldn’t find a lobster model) is symbolic of emerging from emotional depths. It is also the formless fears lurking in the subconcious.
Despite its simplicity, this has been the most challenging of the set so far to light and render and I went through numerous iterations before it worked. I tried several crab models from threedscans which were too detailed and kept crashing the render. Then I found a great little crab freebie from Argam on ShareCG , but it’s an unmapped/untextured OBJ so that took some work to get right; the DAZ built in fractal shader ended up working well. I also had to use a primitive plane with a map as the backdrop, otherwise the water reflections would have been white (the DAZ glass shader I used reflects the background colour rather than the backdrop image).
…so anyway, I’m reasonably happy with the result, DS3 without postwork, best at full rez. « Less
