Just like busses, you wait for ages then two come at once! Here is the final card of my Major Arcana, the world.
It depicts a partially nude figure, signifying modesty, conscientiousness as well as self-confidence. She strikes a dance-like pose with crossed legs; the opposite to that of “The Hanged Man”; here it represents ability to take action with confidence. She is usually shown carrying 2 batons or divining rods to symbolise balance and harmony. In order to more resonate with the “world” theme, I have substituted a sceptre (the same as “the Empress”) but with the globe of earth as its orb, surmounted by the crescent moon. Her drape is also of the same imperial purple as the empress wears. Thanks to Pete (3dCheapskate) for the world map from his globe model.
The figure in the card is traditionally drawn inside a laurel wreath, tied with a red ribbon forming a lemniscate. This represents glory and endless energy. I have turned this into a tattoo. By making it part of the figure I’m referring to those attributes as embodied by mother earth.
The conventional forms of the card show four figures in the corners, the same as in “The Wheel of Fortune” ( Aquarius/air, Scorpio/water, Leo/fire, Taurus/earth). Here again I have incorporated zodiacal symbols into the architecture as an alternative. They symbolise balance and structure.
Pure DS3 this time without pre- or post-work.
