This pack of shaders allows use of noise functions to generate patterns of bump, color, and more. Usable at close range and distant without tiling problems, …

I have been using these shadders for a while, generally they work very well, but the age spots and the dark scattered freckles convert the surface in an invisible one. I have tried to apply them by adding to the original material (a sugested in the README I copy it, add the WTP shader and then paste the original material again) but it does not work. Any suggestions?

Just so folks know, I'm hard at work on WTP3.
Features:
Procedural Perlin Displacement, so you can create complex shapes.
Worley noise, which creates all sorts of interesting more coherent patterns than Perlin.
Tiles/bricks, so you can easily fill in detail on various objects.

It's exciting stuff, can't wait to wrap it up.

Oh, another advice about plasma effects is to set cutout opacity to something like .001, so that all you see is the light emission.
Even if you ultimately decide to do it differently, it's worth trying first.

Thank you, Will.

Sorry about the errors. I honestly have absolutely no idea why those errors occur, but they appear to be harmless. (There aren't any files in the actual shaders, that I can see. ??)

Thank you, Drtwitch!

As for settings and bolts...
One thing that's useful is going into various patterns and checking what thresholds/settings they use. So if you, say, want star-like pinholes as more …

so is there a method to create plasma or "dancing electrical bolts? the sun color is good but it only seems to work on the emission color and that is yellow/red.
drtwitch (8 years ago)Inappropriate?
thanks for making these, I happily clicked on the paypal link as a way to say thank you.
One thing I was hoping to find documentation on are some of the procedural settings you use. I am experimenting but that is tedious and the google searches on iray and "base color tiling" are not giving me anything useful.

Thanks for this new volume I'm eager to try
