I'd originally planned on trying to incorporate some sort of ground material and prop into my worldball, but I never got there. I ran into all sorts of irritations in both Poser and DAZ Studio. Different irritations in each of course.
However, that hasn't stopped me from using what I created, and most of my outdoor pictures use one of my Poser ground shaders. I've also posted a few screenshots of some of the material room setups on my ShareCG or DeviantArt pages.
Recently I nearly lost some of this stuff, which is in my 'Ongoing' runtime. I've decided to upload it mainly to avoid accidentally losing it !
The package consists of a couple of flat ground props, some ground textures (basically the 'Down' renders from the vertical cross cubemaps that were part of the process of creating my worldball environment sets), Poser Firefly MT5 materials to apply each of those textures to anything you want, plus a couple of the Poser Firefly MT5s that I like using most for terrains.
The basic ground prop is as simple as it gets - four vertices in a square, a single face, and UV mapped in the obvious manner. I have three different sizes (1PNU, 10PNU and 100PNU), each with a plain white texture.
The materials are for Poser Firefly because I don't have Poser 11. They work with my 4 vertex groundplanes because Poser Firefly uses micropolygon displacement (I think that's the correct term for displacement that doesn't require a dense mesh?). I've run into all sorts of problems using these shaders, and found various tricks and workarounds. I've posted about some of those, but others remain in my head. I hope to add these hints to this download page as I remember them
