Bowman Beyond The Infinite

I'm a huge SciFi and Fantasy fan and a lot of my professional
art has been in this genre through sculpture and hero class props
and models. Probably the finest example of pure SciFi was Kubrick's
2001. The film's climax was so surreal, it leaves a lasting impression.
In this piece, I wanted to show Dave Bowman's Pod as it traveled through
the Monolith's "wormhole corridor" from a look back perspective (something
we didn't see in the film). I kept the film's original aspect ratio of
2.21 to 1 to try to make it look as authentic as possible.
This could not have been done without Alvatar's beautiful
EVA Pod model and of course Mr. Trumbull's fantastic background.
