Why should I mind? You never know if a site might "die" or something. Better to have a local copy. Of course, I'd love to see what you achieve with the figure itself, be it serious or silly.

Sincerely,

It's an homage to a visual gag depicted in a "Droopy" theatrical short (one of the later ones when the art became stylized. Wendel Wolf (voiced by Daws Butler) who's a cattle rancher declares war upon Droopy who's herding sheep. They eventually engage in a "Western" styled gunfight, with Wendel diving behind a large rock. Droopy's marksmanship chips away more …

Yes there are other designs based off the 1953 movie Martian, but only statues and models.

As for the 1988 TV series martian, it's basically a man in rubber suit.

GhostWolf, just to make sure I understand, are you saying you've seen models of these various alternative designs, or simply illustrations? If the latter, well, there are probably as many variations as there are fans of the film with artistic skills. Example, I've seen a painting in which the artist gave the Martian a slit-like mouth, possibly interpreting a shadow upon the costume as more …

Great work.

There is also a "bipedal" version of the 1953 movie Martian, and also one from the 1988 TV series, also bipedal and slight more "muscular" than the 1953 movie one, if you are interested in making the figures.

Thank you for putting this up.... I am dying to do something in the vein of WOTW, the early version. It looks good. Thanks again for sharing.

To everyone who has so far posted, thank you for your kind words. This movie, specifically the farmhouse scene, scared the DICKENS out of me in 1971 when I made the mistake of catching it while my father was away for the day. Even today I consider Charles Gemora's design one of the most innovative, easily holding its own against many creatures to have since appeared in cinema.

And to more …
