Clytemnestra wife of Agamamnon gets bad press in classical mythology; she is portrayed usually rather negatively as an unfaithful wife who, with her lover, murdered her husband. In the best known version of the story, Aeschylus recounts that when Agamemnon returned after 10 years of campaigning, Clytemnestra killed him in his bath after entangling him in a cloth so he could not struggle. She was later murdered by her own son, Orestes (with the encouragement of his sitser Electra) in revenge for his father.
I see her rather differently.... lets just say she didn't lack for motive! Her first husband and son were killed by Agamemnon, who abused her and forced her to marry him. He later sacrificed their elder daugher Iphigenia to the Gods to further his obsessive war on Troy. then, on his return after 10 years of neglect, he shows up with a new concubine in the person of the unfortunate Cassandra, daughter of the mudered Trojan king Priam, whom he had abducted and fathered two childredn on...
