SaveActorObjects v1.1 Instructions

Where some of a figure's actors have had hair grown from them, save the individual body part geometries as
Wavefront obj files, so the original figure GeomFileName can be preserved, with individual actor geometries
exchanged for their fur-bearing counterparts, allowing the original figure's poses to continue to apply.

CAVEAT: This process requires hand modification of files saved to Poser's library. Not for the faint of heart!

Installation

After extracting the zip archive, place the SaveActorObjects.py file in <PoserAppLocation>:Runtime:Python:poserScripts:ScriptsMenu:Partners:An0malaus, so you can find it. You will need to restart Poser so that the Scripts menu will get updated.

Execution

In your Poser scene, select a figure on which hair has been grown, and choose SaveActorObjects.py from the Scripts menu. The saved files will have names like blMilWom_v4_headHair.obj, where the original figure's geometry file was blMilWom_v4.obj (e.g. for DAZ's Victoria 4 figure) and the body part in question was the head.

In the saved CR2 or PZ3 file, you would need to change the figureResFile line back to the correct reference for the original figure, which you can find in that figure's original CR2 file in the Character library. E.g.:

figureResFile :Runtime:Geometries:DAZPeople:blMilWom_v4b.obj

You also need to change the geometry reference for the actors which had hair grown on them to point to the individually saved actor geometries created by the script, so:
