An "NC" licence number indicated a "Commercial" aircraft, like a DC-3; I've never seen a Cubby with one,
And, back then, the fuselage number was usually about as big as you could paint it on the fuselage, not the empennage. Now, if someone has a vintage photo showing this unusual combination, I'd like to see it!
