The original secretary desks date back to the 18th Century. There were a large variety of designs, but the most popular models included the drop-down writing surface, an array of interior compartments for storing writing supplies, and the upper bookcase hutch. Originally found mostly in offices, by the 19th Century secretary desks had also become popular for home use – due especially to their compact size and versatile functionality. When kept in rooms where you had company, you could easily close the desk to hide your personal correspondence, and it would appear to be just ordinary piece of living room furniture.
This particular model is based on secretary desks owned by both my mother and grandmother, dating from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. It features a drop-down writing surface, a bookcase hutch with leaded glass doors, and an assortment of bonus items.
The desk comes with a variety of texture options, and all of the doors and drawers are fully functional. Please see the enclosed information guide for more details.

 

(There was an issue with a missing bump map. Nothing that really impacted the model, but an annoyance. I am not really skilled at making bump maps, but gave it a try, rather than removing the reference and re-exporting, for fear of breaking something. Hopefull this fixes the missing 22.jpg message).
