This is a step-by-step tutorial for creating transparency maps for DAZ using the free GNU Image Manipulation Program (GIMP). Transparency maps are often essential for the creation of some scenes and models to make them suitable for rendering. You will, of course, need both programs for this tutorial.

Please note that this is a PDF format tutorial. While I respect all those who create video based tutorials, I find that many of them go a bit too fast for me, and some leave out steps that the creator assumes you already know. I have tried to be as detailed as possible here, and with the PDF format you can follow along at your own pace.

It may seem like a long process at first, but once you get the hang of it creating transparency maps is actually quite easy and fast. I hope that some will find this helpful in their creative endeavors. « Less
