* So what is this?
It's a poseable bag - similar to a cloth shoulder bag or a plastic shopping bag. It does NOT conform to a genesis figure, so don't try and fit it. Your best option is to parent it to a bone of your favorite character (such as the hip) and then manipulate it from there. It comes with no textures - only the default DAZ shaders. You should find it easy enough to apply any shaders you like to the bag's surfaces.
* How to install this?
Unzip the file and you should find a single folder called 'Bag Files' (which contains a 'data' and 'Props' folder). Run DAZ Studio and inside the Content Library Pane you should see a root entry 'DAZ Studio Formats' near the top. Right-click this entry and a menu should appear. Choose 'Add Base Directory ...' and browse to the 'Bag Files' folder that you just unzipped. Select that folder and DAZ Studio should mount it. The 'Bag Files' folder should then be accessible. If you look inside the 'Props' folder you should see something called 'Cloth Bag'. Double-click this and the bag should load into your scene.
* How does it work?
Load it into a blank scene and select the Universal Tool. If you hover the mouse over different parts you should see that it has a variety of face groups which can be manipulated. For example if you click anywhere on the bag's handles, you should be able to rotate, translate and scale them. If you do a lot of extreme or unusual manipulations, you'll probably find that parts of the mesh will either mangle or intersect - so be careful. I've tried to add some limits but things can still look weird if you push the dials too far.
At some point, you'll want to return the bag to it's default state. When you want to do that, right-click on the Parameters Pane and select Restore -> Restore Figure. DO NOT choose Zero -> Zero Figure - this won't work and the bag won't function correctly if you do this.
Also at some point, you may be inclined to look at the Scene Pane and delve inside the bag's hierarchy. It's quite complicated. There's a whole lot of deformers which I've ERC-linked to some ghost bones. If you don't change or mess with any of this stuff, the bag should work OK.
* Why did I make this?
This was an experiment that kind of got out of hand (LOL). For a long time I've been frustrated with the bag props that are currently available (free or for sale). I wanted something that was more poseable, and more user-friendly. Whether or not I've come close to achieving that is for you to judge. « Less
