I've been getting fed up with the 2D billboard flames supplied with most Poser candles, so I decided to try and create a candle flame shader for a 3D …

Rule of thumb - set point light intensity to the same value as candle scale when candle is realistically sized (0.5% to 10%)

Yarp: This won't really help with the illumination. The LightEmitter material zone's mesh needs to either be a separate prop, or the candle needs to be a figure with the LightEmitter material zone's mesh as a separate actor. OrishaShango: the shader does work in Superfly too but it doesn't look the same. Andy ideas you have would be most welcome.

smurfswacker/Thalek: I just discovered that making a few select node input parameters animated can really improve the look of it.

Divamakeup: You've inspired me to try and recreate it for DAZ Studio - see the topic on the DAZ freebies forum.

These flame renders look fantastic! Nicely done! I don't use Poser but if I did I'd definitely snatch these up. Awesome work!

It's beautiful looking. I'll have to give this a try.

Been following the thread. It can be done in Superfly. Will post in Renderosity forum thread soon.
