I don't know, if the following can be of help ...
Here some info from the Renderosity Vue forum - a reply to a question of a user with similar problems:
"... Ok, I am on Windows 7 64 bit (and previously XP 32bit). On XP I needed to start the driver manually before starting Vue (via the 3dConnexion control panel), under Window 7 it start as soon as I plug in the device. Once the device is on (mine is a Space navigator) I can start Vue and the camera controls are now linked to the SpaceNavigator).
I seem to remember that Vue support was added later and not included in the drivers that came with my SpaceNavigator. Maybe that is the problem for you, too?
I got the latest driver here: http://www.3dconnexion.com/service/drivers.html
Is that what you tried?

TD
Just checked: I can download the driver package from the website. Latest version for Windows is 3.8.2 with a release date of 2009/11/19. The file size is 118 Mb for some reason ... "
And here the reply from the user in trouble, after this message:
"... Thanks TD for your help, eventually I managed to get on the site downloaded the drivers and everything is working great it automatically installed drivers for Vue, Poser and C4D ..."
