Informative Graphics Brings Role-Based Redaction to Open Text LivelinkECM

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz.—(BUSINESS WIRE)—November 18, 2008— Informative Graphics Corporation (IGC), a leader in viewing, collaboration and redaction technology, today announced role-based redaction as part of its Brava!® Enterprise viewing, annotation and redaction software for Open Text Livelink ECM™. Role-based redaction allows Livelink administrators to assign different access rights to each Livelink group, helping to reduce liability and achieve regulatory compliance without sacrificing workflow efficiency.

The greatest increase in multi-plaintiff cases are in wage, discrimination and privacy issues. In fact, privacy issues top the list of concerns for most IT executives. The industry has responded with data leak prevention solutions to help manage risk and help organizations comply with the growing list of regulations. IDC has estimated market growth for solutions in this area to increase from $194 million in 2007 to almost $435 million by 20091.

Enterprise content management systems are often a source of privileged information. In organizations where multiple user groups participate in the review of documents, role-based redaction can reduce the risk of information leaks resulting from unauthorized insider access to privileged data. Heavily regulated industries such as life sciences, healthcare, government, financial and insurance seeking greater content security for protecting HR documents, accounting data, proprietary information, and intellectual property can now address security concerns with Brava’s role-based redaction.

Role-based redaction allows IT administrators to specify what content, based on policies, users in a Livelink Group can see. Each source document can have multiple redaction rules or templates applied, creating different views for different groups. For instance, users in a select group may be authorized to view particular information in one section of a document while another group’s view of that section may be completely blocked out. IGC is the first to allow this kind of data protection without sacrificing workflow efficiency.

“Insiders represent a significant risk to an organization, often unintentionally, simply through their access to sensitive information. It is this access that can lead to a security breach,” said Gary Heath, CEO of Informative Graphics. “As these threats evolve, solutions such as Brava with role-based redaction support organizations in achieving higher levels of information security that scale to meet and exceed compliance requirements.”

Brava for Livelink ECM is an out-of-the-box application tailored to Livelink. Call IGC to request more information and a trial version.
