Thanks a million for this Pete. Its just what I needed for DS3. I have used the bump map for earth in my latest tarot render (The Emperor) to be posted soon :)

New Horizons is 11 days from Pluto now. Maybe a new texture map?

N.B. If regenerating the missing files yourself in DS3, I think that the .dso files are only created when you SAVE A SCENE. So load the CR2, save the scene, and they should be there.

Missing files uploaded separately - see new link at top of description.

No, I'm missing those files too. But if you still have the old DS3 (three!) they're easy to regenerate - simply load the globe CR2 and it's done (using DS4 won't do it).
Since most people won't have DS3 I'll update the zip file in the next day or two to include the missing files.

I'll check that when I'm back on my own system - I should still have all the sources for all my projects...

I've had this wonderful set for ages, and I can't believe I never noticed before that the DS version of the Solar System scene doesn't work -- the Data files are missing. I can use the .pz3 file instead, but if you happen to still have the files I would love an update.

Thanks Ockham (and everybody else who's commented/rated/downloaded) - this was my very first venture into making stuff. I've learnt a lot since then!

Very useful! Much better than some non-free globe models.

N.B. the usage rights have been reduced from "Unrestricted Use" to "Limited Use With Credits" purely because of the planetary textures - see the readme.
Everything apart from those textures is my own work, and has "Unrestricted Use" rights.

I'll be re-uploading around the end of this week with a proper fix for the Poser problem (there really was a problem, honest!) plus a few improvements. Any (not too ambitious!) suggestions would be welcome. Thanks again for all the compliments!

Update on my comment: Having looked at your models in Poser Six, I do not see personally where there is that much of a problem with using them. I haven't looked at them in Daz, but they should do fine in Poser for still images. I don't know about animations as I don't animate.
Archeopterix (15 years ago)Inappropriate?
That's very nice looking work for a first model. I remember my first one: Sort of a cigar tube rocket thing with little triangular fins glued to it. You'll go far in modeling and prop making I think. Thank you.

Fantastic!Thank u!!!! xxxx

That last comment seems to have been truncated, so to finish: You'll also need to change the line that immediately follows it from 'orientation 0 0 0' to 'orientation 0 0 180'. Hope that helps any frustrated Poser 6 users.
3DCheapskate (15 years ago)Inappropriate?
Thanks everybody - such a positive response to my first effort!
I should have mentioned that the third sample image (grey background) shows how the 'Rotate Cradle' is wrong in Poser 6.
I've found a temporary Poser-only (messes up in D|S!) work-around. It's a simple edit of the CR2. Find the line (there's only one):
'origin 0 0.135 0'
and change it to
'origin 0 0.0675 0'
