Very welcome. That's fascinating. If you were given a knife like you described that resembled a kukri but was Hellenic I'd hazard a guess that it was a Falcata. They were popular in and around the Iberian peninsula and the Mediterranean at that time. Granted I'm mo expert.

Many years ago, I was given an old, bone-handled blade resembling these. Hellenic rather than Himalayan, but convergent evolution.
After a while, we noticed it had faint engraving. Cleaned up, this proved to be a line of verse in an archaic dialect, which could be read several ways: 'Care, I am sharp', or 'Always point me towards a friend'.

can you edit your text with the following spellings :

Gurkha
Khukuri = main knife
Karda = utility knife
Chakmak = sharpener

I already have two Khukuri props, downloading yours as well anyway, since, in Gurkha units and Nepalese culture, there is a wide range of styles of this family of weapons.
