This is a base on which to display your characters or other objects. It is named for Atlas, the Greek figure who was cursed to support the world on his back; often depicted as carrying a globe between his shoulders. The prop, image map and materials are all provided in a Zipped file (No longer a self extractor in case you've been here before) in the archive for ease of installation.
The Atlas Base is a carved wooden base with brass rings around it in a globe. The base and rings are raytraced with reflection added in the materials settings. I scaled the base using the James figure as a reference to scale but you may wish to scale it up or down depending on your needs. The base is displayed using the Aiko 3 and Mitsu Hair figures. These are not included but are available from DAZ.
The base renders somewhat slowly so you may wish to tweak the materials as necessary to get the effect you want. For best results turn on Raytracing and Smooth Polygons features in your render settings. Keep in mind though that the more rigorous you set your render settings the slower the base will render. On faster computers this won't be a problem of course.
You may redistribute the ZIP package freely provided you follow the necessities outlined in the readme file. The base is provided for any render whether it be personal, commercial, or public and rendered images need not, of course, be credited to me. (I don't think it would be fair to ask you all to have my name plastered all over your artwork after all.) As with the Ghurka Knife the object is listed under the "Limited Use with Credits' Usage Rights section but that just applies to sharing the model, not the rendered images so feel free to back it up or what have you. (Nobody wants to keep downloading stuff over and over again, right?)
I hope this prop is useful to you in your images. I had a lot of fun designing it and releasing it to you. Enjoy.
